Tea sets
I made it a habit when I went travelling to see if I could find a miniature tea set as a souvenir.
It all started soon after I started learning about miniatures. I was in Victoria BC, and visited Craigdarroch Castle. In the gift shop there was a lovely little 'gold' coloured oriental type tea set. I purchased it as a souvenir. Then when we were visiting our daughter and her family in Texas, we went to San Antonio. In an outdoor shopping area with lots of stalls selling arts and crafts, I came across some little mugs. They are very 'rustic' or 'primitive', but they were miniatures and I bought them. With the addition of one more set from a shop in Old Town Spring, near where my daughter lived, I found a cute blue and white set. So now, with three sets, I considered it a collection. From time to time I have added to it. Sometimes it's not the whole teaset, but I try to stick to that theme as much as I can. I'll take more close up photos to add in later. The cabinet I use to showcase them is the second one. The first one now stores overflows and some 1/2" ones. That is still in progress, I'll take photos of it later on. Both of these cabinets are 'brass' framed glass. Nice for display, somewhat hard to photograph for a non-expert like myself.
